moving into a larger space downtown
trying to overcome problems with city inspectors
will eventually have an open space for semi-quiet meetings, workshops, etc. (dorkbot?)

Ideas for AVR Book

	should be project based
projects should be interesting (not a morse code keyer or blinking xmas tree)
based on workshops at noisebridge and other places?
	Multiple authors?
	Should more than mention Arduino
should be suitable for beginners – talk about families of AVRs etc.
every project schematics and code, PCB drawings, etc.

	Project ideas:
hello world – blinking an LED
		POV (miniPOV)
		ipod remote control
		infrared remote control
		collecting data
		serial communication
turning an AVR into an Arduino
		generating video signals with hardware

Similar books -
Programming and Customizing the AVR Microcontroller (TAB)
		due soon – preorders available
Embedded C Programming and the Atmel AVR
ok book, doesn't use avr-gcc, uses Codevision (not in common use with hobbyists)

Webpass – wireless mesh network in San Francisco
maybe suitable for noisebridge – to promote webpass

Bill wants to make sure basic stuff is covered. Be careful that projects aren't too esoteric, specialized – it will turn people off.

Bunnie – understanding traces, circuit boards, etc.
spotting different kinds of circuits in common equipment – hard drives, motherboards, consumer electronics – stuff people see on a day to day basis
Bill wants to do a book about that stuff, identifying PCBs and stuff
Talk to Bunnie about his presentation, he may have information about tips, tools, etc.

multi-authors can be problematic
Mitch Altman = lead author/architect – herder of cats
